Hammerting Cinematic

(2020) As the Art Director for this cinematic, I was responsible for the end-to-end creative development. I designed a pipeline that allowed integration of 2D paintings into 3D space. Beyond setting the creative vision, I worked together with 2d artist Axel Dahlborg, providing art direction and feedback to ensure a cohesive look while personally building a lot of the artwork myself using a combination of 3d modeling and 2d paintovers.

  • This shot of The Gate was first created in maya, then lit and rendered to several layers into Photoshop where I put additional 2d paint work to get the handpainted style. The pinetrees were painted by my friend/colleague Axel Dahlborg.

  • The Hammerting logo is sculpted and rendered in Zbrush.
